Carl R. York, of Richland Ranchettes (Cochise), died Dec. 1, 2003 in Tucson at the age of 70.
He was born in Lawrenceville, Ill. on Nov. 21, 1933, to Charles E. and Madge Evelyn (Catt) York.
Carl served in the U.S. Army. He moved to the Tucson area in 1976, and to the Sunsites- Cochise area in 1991. Carl was retired from Canteen Vending Company in Tucson and was a member of Wynne Chapel in Richland Ranchettes.
On Oct. 25, 1955 in Shawneetown, Ill. he married Linda Newlin.
Survivors include his wife Linda of Richland Ranchettes; sons Tony (Cari) of Brentwood, Tenn., Tim (Stacey) and Tom (Elaine) both of Tucson, and Troy (Sharon) of Cumberland, Md.; and his daughter Tanya (Lee) Mullins of Robinson, Ill.
Also surviving are his brothers Joe (Bonnie) of Parkersburg, Ill. and Paul of Robinson, Ill.; sisters Mary Benson of Palestine, Ill., Linda Nail of Georgetown, Ill., and Judy York of West Salem, Ill.; along with 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, two sisters and his parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. at Wynne Chapel, with viewing prior to the service. Cremation followed at Westlawn Crematorium.
Memorial services were also offered Sunday, Dec. 7, at Catalina Heights Christian Union in Tucson at 2 p.m.
Contributions may be made to the Wynne Chapel Building Fund, 374 E. Richland Way, Cochise, Ariz., 85606.
Services were under the direction of Westlawn Chapel, Mortuary and Crematorium of Willcox."
