Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Bates received a message Saturday telling of the death of their son Dr. Austin Bates of Denton, Tex.-
Dr. Bates who was 43 years of age, had been ill and the message came as a shock. It was thought death resulted from over-work and heat.
Dr. Bates was a Mason County boy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bates, who have resided on the farm in Eden township for many years. He was graduated from University of Michigan. A fall injured him seriously but in spite of this he continued his profession and became widely known.
