Obit from Messenger of Truth Issue 17, 2002:

Lewie F. Becker was born to John B. and Lena Buller Becker on November 11, 1916, in McPherson County, Kansas. He passed on to his eternal reward on June 21, 2002, at Halstead, Kansas, at the age of eighty-five years.
Dad's early childhood was spent near Moundridge, Kansas, and his teen years were spent in the Halstead, Kansas, community. At the age of twenty, Dad surrendered his life to the Lord and was converted. He was baptized on January 25, 1937, at Halstead, Kansas.
Lewie was married to Nina Unruh on June 22, 1943, and two children were born into their home. Dad and Mother were devoted to each other and their children. Dad and Mother lived in McPherson, Kansas, for fifty-three years. Dad was employed in a tire store, and then worked in the Swick Guth machine shop for twenty-three years.
Dad was a good neighbor and was loved by everyone who knew him. His life was enriched by the many friends who often stopped by to visit. In 1971, Dad and Mother reconsecrated their lives and treasured the fellowship they found in the Church. Christian life was important to them, and they were careful to clear things up each day with each other and also with their Savior. They became a part of the Gospel Congregation, Moundridge, Kansas, when it organized.
After fifty-seven years of happy marriage, Mother was called from this life in January 2001, leaving Dad very lonely. On March 1, 2002, he was married to Marguerite Schmidt of Moundridge, Kansas. They were able to enjoy each other's companionship only a few short months.
In the last weeks when we could see Dad's time was coming to a close, he again left a clear assurance of peace in his heart. We are comforted in knowing that he suffers and sorrows no more and is safely at rest on the other side.
Left to mourn Lewie's passing are his wife, Marguerite; son, Ranford and wife, Bonnie, Springfield, Oregon; daughter, Mary and husband, J. Harvey Koehn, Andover, Kansas; four grandchildren; one sister, Violet and husband, Howard Koehn, Burns, Kansas; three stepbrothers: Danny Unruh, Moundridge, Kansas; Manno Unruh and wife, Dora, Galva, Kansas; and Freeman Unruh and wife, Eleanor, Halstead, Kansas; two stepsisters: Evelyn Wadel, Greensburg, Kansas, and Manda Unruh, Moundridge, Kansas; and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Preceding Lewie in death were his parents, his first wife, four brothers, three sisters, and a stepbrother.
Funeral services were held at the Gospel Mennonite Church, Moundridge, Kansas, on June 27, 2002. Min. Dale Koehn, Min. Dean Becker, Min. Richard Mininger, and Min. Dale Becker officiated. Burial was in the Lone Tree Cemetery, Galva, Kansas.
