On January 1, 2017, Mark Christopher McGraw passed away at his home in Ocean Pines, Maryland. The youngest of 10 children, Mark was raised in Wiltondale, a lively neighborhood located in Towson, Maryland. He graduated from Calvert Hall College High School (1979) and Towson University (1985) with a degree in Business Administration, and was married soon thereafter to Carol (nee Duty) McGraw, his wife of thirty-three years.

Mark initially worked in the building materials industry before relocating with his young family to Myrtle Beach, SC in 1990, working with his brother Bob as a bookseller for several years in Myrtle Beach. In 1995, he embarked on a highly successful cable advertising sales career with Time Warner Communications, serving the growing tourism, retail and vacation industries in the “Grand Strand” of South Carolina. In 2010, Mark joined his brother Brian at Intersect Healthcare + AppealMasters in Lutherville, Maryland, initially working in sales and marketing, and eventually rising to the position of Vice President, Business Operations. His drive and dedication was instrumental in helping the companies grow to be a national leader in the medical appeal services industry.

As an avid golfer, Mark enjoyed memberships at the Dunes Club and Pine Lakes golf clubs in Myrtle Beach, while also spending time serving many charitable organizations throughout the Coastal Carolina region, including SERTOMA (Service to Man), Caring in Our Lifetime (Breast Cancer Support) and Leadership Grand Strand (United Way). Mark also known as “Crab” enjoyed fantasy football and his favorite place was the beach.

Mark is survived by his wife Carol of Ocean Pines, son Jordan of Baltimore and daughter MacKenzie of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was the son of the late Edmund John McGraw and Margaret (nee Daiger) McGraw of Towson. In addition to his wife and children, Mark is also survived by his nine brothers and sisters, Pat and her husband David Linzey, Peg and her husband Richard Scott, Bob and Barbara McGraw, Bill McGraw, Sally McGraw, Kevin and his wife Missi McGraw, Sheila McGraw, Kelly and her husband Dan Coyne and Brian and his wife Susan McGraw, twenty-three nephews and nieces and twenty-six first cousins.

Receiving of friends will be held at the Ruck Towson family owned funeral home, 1050 York Rd. (Beltway exit 26) Sunday, January 8 from 4 to 7 pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 200 Ware Ave., Towson, Monday, January 9 at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mark McGraw may be directed to support the Nurse's Discretionary Fund at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel CancerCenter.
