A Warren "Sonny" Kulp, Jr., 81, of Riviera Beach, FL; formerly of Bedminster Township, PA passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Trustbridge Hospice, Gerstenberg Care Center in West Palm Beach, FL.
He was the loving husband of Judith Ann (Gruver) Kulp for 57 years. Sonny was born in Springtown, PA to the late A. Warren Kulp, Sr. and the late Lizzie M. (Landis) Kulp.
He graduated from Hilltown High School, class of 1953. Sonny was a lifelong self-employed dairy farmer. He was also a licensed real estate agent for the former Lapp & Alderfer in Souderton and for the former Roy S. Landis Real Estate in Dublin. From 1976 to 1984, Sonny was the head of the real estate department for the County of Bucks. After moving to Florida with his wife, he was employed at the Palm Beach Kennel Club, until retiring in December of 2007.
Sonny was a member of the Doylestown Lodge #245 F&AM, Lehigh Consistory SPRS 32nd, the Rajah Temple of Reading, PA. He was also a former officer of the Pennridge Republican Club and Republican Committeeman, a Chairman of the Bedminster Township Board of Supervisors and a Bedminster Tax Collector. Sonny was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in West Palm Beach, FL.
He was a lifelong loyal Republican, an Avid football enthusiast and a Steelers fan. Sonny was known for his great sense of humor and a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he was survived by two sons, Steven Kulp & wife, Tracey of Perkasie, PA, Richard W. Kulp of Quakertown, PA; a daughter, Patricia Rooney & husband, Patrick of West Palm Beach, FL; six grandchildren – Kiamesha, Brianna, Mary, Frances, Patrick III & Anthony; a great-granddaughter, Dilynn Green; two sisters, Jane Hendricks & husband, Warren of Perkasie, PA and Nancy Lewis of Sellersville, PA.
In addition to his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Overholt.
A funeral service was held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Deep Run Mennonite Church West, Perkasie, PA. Burial was at Deep Run Mennonite Church Cemetery West.
