Lewis W. Hughey, 68, of El Dorado, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007 at his home. Services will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow the services in Cassoday Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 6, 1939 in El Dorado and was the son of Hubert Henderson and Vern Lucille (King) Hughey. Lewis spent most of his life in El Dorado and served in the United States Coast Guard. He was superintendent of buildings and grounds for Butler County Courthouse at the time of his retirement. He was a member of the Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, Moose Lodge and Men's Bowling Association.

On Feb. 21, 1970, he married Jill Wichers in a ceremony in El Dorado.

Survivors include: his wife of the home; sons, John Hughey and Jason Hughey, both of El Dorado; brother, Phil Hughey and wife Shirley of El Dorado; Two grandchildren, Jaycob Wayne Hughey and Jayme Ty Hughey, both of El Dorado; a brother and sister in law, Jack and Julia Wichers of El Dorado; nieces and nephews, Austin Hughey, Lexce Hughey, Reno Hughey, Ashley Hughey, Dustin Hughey, Tanner Hughey, Jardyn Hughey, Cameron Hughey, Terra Hughey, Kim Ehret, Carri Hughey, Jeff, Jim and John Wickers and families.

Memorials in his memory for Acute Lymphatic Leukemia Society may be left with Carlson Funeral Home where friends may call.
