Arnold Coleman Allen, 44, died Thursday night in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was born April 3, 1915, in Sheridan, Arkansas.
He had resided in Bieber for nine years prior to coming to Eureka in 1950. He had been employed as a grader for the U.S. Plywood Company, He was a member of the Church of Christ, Eureka.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Valerie Allen, Eureka; daughters, Mrs. Sammie Brown and Donna Rae Allen, both of Eureka; son, Cpl. Fred James Allen, serving with the U.S. Army in Korea; mother, Mrs. Rose Allen, Sheridan, Ark.; sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Lybrand, Sheridan, Ark.; Mrs. Mildred Morehead, Lakeview, Oregon; brother Otha Allen, Sheridan, Ark.; granddaughter, Kathleen Brown, Eureka; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. from the Church of Christ, California and Cedar Streets, Eureka. Lyle Bonner will officiate. Interment will be in Ocean View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Mortuary, Chapel of the Ferns.
