Fred W. Parks, 67, of Three Springs, died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb 18, 2016, at his vacation home in Venice, Florida.

Born Oct 3, 1948, in Mapleton, he was a son of the late Isaac Glover and Eunice (Varner) Parks. He was united in marriage to the former Vicky Wible on Dec 12, 1970, in Three Springs, by Rev. Charles Rhodes. Mrs. Parks survives at their home.

Mr. Parks is survived by three children: Jeffrey Parks and wife Dave; Matthew Parks and wife, Jenna; and Jenny Doyle and husband, Wendell; all of Three Springs; seven grandchildren, Olivia Parks, Gage Parks, Matthew Parks, Jackson Parks, Reece Parks, Austin Doyle and Brock Doyle.

He is also survived by two siblings: Bland Parks and wife, Connie, Mapleton; and Susan Shoop and husband Fred, Port Royal.

Mr. Parks was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Three Springs.

He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves.

Mr. Parks was a member of Cromwell Lodge No. 572, F&AM, Orbisonia, and Madden-Wennick American Legion Post 518, Rockhill.

Along with his wife, he owned and operated Hiram Wible & Son Trucking Inc., Three Springs, for many years. He also enjoyed farming his entire life.

Throughout his life, Mr. Parks enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren's various sporting events and was also involved in dirt track racing for a number of years as a car owner. Mr. Parks was also active in team penning and sorting with the American quarter horses. During his younger years, he also enjoyed playing softball with the Jaycees.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at the First United Methodist Church, Three Springs, with the Rev. Rachel Horst, Dr. Kenneth Grundon, and Joseph Barrett officiating.

Friends may call at the church from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service Sunday.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia.
