This appears to be the correct Simeon Brockway, son of Jeremiah Brockway and Rachel Rebecca Fraser (born 1809 Canada and died after 1960). The last record I can locate on him is in 1870 in Cook County, Illinois, living next to his sister, Phebe Ruth Brockway Titus. The end panel of the monument says: Dear uncle - you shall ever be remembered with respect and affection, sincerely, James and Carlos. He had a great nephew by the name of Don Carlos Brockway, but since the front panel alludes to his sister, Emily, I would assume that James and Carlos are her sons. The front of the tombstone has been hard to read - still working on it, but it says in part: Dear Simeon, Hard to say thy will be done..... resting ______I bow my head in resignation . But your place will ever lie...... Affectionately Sister Emily. He had a sister, Emily who I can find nothing on since 1860. She was born ca 1848.
