(Ret. Lt.) Robert "Sarge" Avrett, 57 of Orlando passed away Saturday, April 19, 2003. Sarge was born in Sanford, FL and was a Christian.

He was a Lieutenant for the Orlando Fire Department and retired after 26 1/2 years of service. Sarge also worked for the Orange County School Board as an instructor and Supervisor. He was a member of the Orlando Professional Firefighters Union Local 1365 and the Miami Track Hunting Club.

Sarge is survived by his wife Joyce, Orlando; daughter, Michelle Avrett Curtis, Orlando; son-in-law, Dave Curtis, Orlando; daughter, Carolann Hooker, St. Marys, GA; granddaughter, Nicole Marie Ferguson, Indianapolis, IN; mother-in-law, Mary Aguiar, Orlando; sister, Sandra Rinaldi, Panama City, FL; and two nieces. Along with his sister Sandra Darlene Ranaldi.
