A. I. Clause (Male) Committed by L. Archer Judge of Santa Clara October 23rd 1868. Age 32 years; native of Ohio; single; was last from montana; has been one year in California; occupation, farmer. The evidence of insanity is his acts and conversation; is suicidal - says he wants to die. This is the first attack and it appeared recently; has no hallucination; is not filthy or destructive; is supposed to have been temperate; no change in health since the attack; cause of insanity unknown; class, dementia. Condition of patient when received about the same as represented in above abstract of commitment. Admitted October 25th 1868. Has no property. Died April 13th 1871 of Marasmus (chronic malnutrition).
