He was the past owner and founder of the Red Cap Diner and Motel and La Baronnie Motel. He was the past owner of Middle West Pubnico Bus Builders where he established d'Eon's Bus Line. He also operated a passenger service to Yarmouth. He built the Walter Callow Bus, the first known wheelchair accessible bus in Nova Scotia. He was a co-founder of the West Pubnico Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie "Rosie" (d'Entremont) d'Eon; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Layton James and Arthur Roger.
Remains are resting in West Pubnico Funeral Home, with visitation 9 a.m-3 p.m. today, followed by funeral service at 3:30 p.m. in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Middle West Pubnico, Father Edgar Mvubu officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to West Pubnico Ambulance Service.
