Charlotte Jeane James Ferguson, 89 of Fordyce died Wednesday, December 28, 2016. Charlotte was born November 3, 1927 in Fordyce and lived there her entire life. She was born to serve others and made her career in Social Work. If you had a problem, she is who you wanted to talk to. If you needed a friend, then she was it. If you needed a joke or a laugh, then she was the one to call. The Lord was first and then her family. She has a large extended family rejoicing her homecoming. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Reed James and Helen Edith Jordan Dedman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John H. Ferguson. She is survived by her daughter, Angela Ann Ferguson Young (William) of Bryant; her son, John Jordan Ferguson of Fordyce; a half brother, Tom James of Little Rock; her only grandchild, Carmen Ashley Phillips (Robin); four great-grandchildren, John Tyler, Trevor James, Teagan Aubrey and Tinsley Claire Phillips. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel with memorial services following at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
