Martha ”Elizabeth” (Hooe) Carr, age 93, a Birmingham, AL resident, passed away Dec. 26 in Birmingham. She had previously lived in Fort Worth for over 70 years. She was born in Wardville, OK to Robert Earl and Sarah Ollie (Dennis) Hooe. She graduated from Limestone Gap High School. She was a Administrative Assistant for General Dynamics, and she retired in 1989 after a 47 year career. She married James B. Smith on Nov. 20, 1942, he preceded her in death on August 22, 1954. She later married Joseph N. Carr on Jan. 1, 1960, he preceded her in death on July 3, 2008. She was a member of Western Hills Church of Christ in Ft. Worth, TX for more than 50 years. She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; brothers, Cleve Hooe and R. E. Hooe; sisters, Naomi Pemberton; Ruby Williams, and Eva Carr; brother in law, Lamar Loftin; and sister in law, Jeraldine Hooe. Service will be held graveside at Wardville Cemetery on Dec. 31, 2016 at 10 a.m.
