Janice E. Agler, 102, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Monday, December 27, 2016 at Golden Years Homestead in Fort Wayne. Janice was born on December 5, 1914 in Mercer County, OH to the late Charles and Iva (Rickard) Sutton. On October 8, 1932 she married Guy Agler; he preceded her in death on February 22, 1970.

Janice was a great example of a life well lived. She was a member of the Decatur Church of God and was very active in the church; she taught Sunday School, a member of the Women of the Church of God, sang in the choir, was the church treasurer and served on many boards and committees. She worked for 20 plus years at Decatur Industries; she loved genealogy, bowling and was an avid artist painter; she loved the Cincinnati Reds. Janice was also a member of the DAR and worked as a self-employed hairdresser.

She is survived by two daughters, Rita Schindler of Ft. Wayne and Norma (George) Geyer of Decatur; brother, Dan Sutton of Lima, OH; sister, Joanna Davis of Kokomo, IN; 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 22 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild; 6 generations totaling 81 descendants. Preceding her in death was a son, Dewayne Agler; two great grandchildren; three brothers, Earl, Gerald and Aaron Sutton; five sisters, Hazel Felver, Leota Sutton, Dorothy Dobbs, Opal Bursley and Pauline Jones.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home and also 1 hour prior to service on Saturday, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Decatur Church of God with Pastor Jerry Mitchel officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, OH.
