Abram Birdwell was probably born in Roane County, Tennessee, where Joshua Birdwell lived before moving to Blount County. Abram came to Honeycomb Valley in Marshall County by 1840 not far from where Joshua's brother John Birdwell had settled 20 years earlier. Genealogists believe Abraham was the son of Joshua, since his first son was named Joshua J. Birdwell.
Joshua and John Birdwell were sons of George Birdwell and wife Mary Looney.

Abram Birdwell died 1840-50 in Honeycomb Valley and his family continued living not far the Honeycomb cemetery, where he is thought to be buried (not verified).
