"Mrs. JAMES MERRITT DEAD - The above name lady about 50 years of age, died at her home in the Walker's neighborhood, Tuesday, and was buried Wednesday. She was a member of the Church at Walker's (United Methodist Church) and was a woman of many admirable traits of character. Her death is a sad blow to her husband, children and other friends, who have our sincere sympathy in this, the hour of their bereavement."

James MERRITT and 2nd wife Sarah "Sallie" SIDWELL are my husband's great-great-grandparents.
