Alice I. Weed, 81, of The Canisteo Manor, 11 Fifth St., passed away Friday (Jan. 15, 2010) at St. James Mercy Hospital.

Born April 8, 1928, in Greenwood, the daughter of Clarence and Flossie Alden Brutsman, she had resided in Olean during her early life and in Canisteo since 1952. She was a member of the Canisteo United Methodist Church, and past matron of the former Canisteo Chapter #210, Order of Eastern Star. Alice enjoyed painting and crafts and will be remembered for the many craft items she made for her many friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Clark Weed; her sisters, Mary Louise House and Agnes Brutsman; and six brothers, Clinton, Robert, Ronald, Dale, Alvin and Raymond Brutsman.

She is survived by her daughter, Yolanda (Wally Wade) Mullen of Canisteo; two sons, Steven (Sally) Weed of Canisteo, and Daniel (Rachelle) Weed of New Canaan, Conn.; two brothers, Donald (Jess) Brutsman of Arkport, and William Brutsman of Sugarland, Texas; her friends at the Canisteo Manor; and eight grandchildren, James (Brandi) Weed of Binghamton, Amy (William) Quinley of Kansas, William (Libby) Weed of Arizona, Marcy (Ryan) Dorman of Tennessee, Emily (Luke) Rosser of Connecticut, and Bradley Mullen, Adam Mullen and Richelle Mullen, all of Canisteo; seven great-grandchildren, Ashton, Nolan, Will, Evan, Stewart, Hadley and Zachary; and several nieces and nephews.
