Columbia, Marion Co., Ms.
Paper Date: 03-07-1908
We bow in humble submission to the divine will that has called hence, one of our comrades. Bro. Jared May of the 16th Ms. Infantry. He lived to the ripe old age of nearly 80 years , having died in Dec., 1907, after an illness lasting many days, but his last pains were alleviated by the care and attention of friends and loved ones for which we pray God's blessings. One by one our comrades are called upon to pass over the river and rest under the shade. He was a member of the Baptist Church, and lived a quiet , unassuming , bright life.
