On 25 Sep 1854 Mr. Barnett remarried, to Catherine York, b c 1820 in Pennsylvania, widow of Larkin York, with whom she had five children (Jesse, Adeline, James M., Aquilla M, and Mart). In 1869 he sold his property and joined a wagon train to California to join four of his children. It is not known if his wife died in Illinois, in California, or en route.
