Elsa Bennett passed away on December 23, 2016 at the age of 85. Elsa was born in Aurora, Indiana on Friday, February 20, 1931 to Albert Dunn Sr. and Stella Wilson Dunn.

Elsa graduated from high school in her hometown of Aurora. She was employed as a high school cafeteria attendant for Broken Arrow Public Schools.

On September 10, 1949 Elsa married Martin J. Bennett in an Aurora, Indiana wedding ceremony. Their union was blessed with three children. Elsa was a wonderful wife and mother. She adored her family and loved spending time with them.

In her free time Elsa enjoyed her work and gardening. She loved baking and cooking for her friends and family. Elsa took immaculate care of her car, washing and waxing it often. Elsa was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Elsa is survived by her children, Dianna Bartholomew and husband Dale of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Margie Chelberg and husband Jeff of Foyil, Oklahoma, Dan Bennett and wife Keli of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Amy, Chris, Christy, Angela, Micheal, Hunter and Sydney, eight great grandchildren and brother, Albert Dunn of Aurora, Indiana.

Elsa was preceded in death by her parents, husband Martin Bennett, brothers, Walter, Thurman, Russell, James and Elmer and sisters Frances and Mary.

A celebration of the life will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel. Elsa will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. Services under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
