Hazel Lenon Edington Bethune, age 97, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2005, at Southridge Village Nursing Center in Heber Springs. Born in Dumas, Arkansas, on August 7, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Catherine (Roberson) Edington. Married to Roderick A. Bethune on December 23, 1932, Mrs. Bethune was a homemaker. She had been a resident of Eden Isle since 1978, and she was a member of the St. Francis Episcopal Church. Her husband, Roderick A. Bethune, preceded her in death. Mrs. Bethune was also preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine Edington Matlock Montgomery and Gladys Merle Edington McCown. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Bethune Blanchard of Ithaca, New York; four grandchildren, David, Robert, and Richard Quinlan, and Scott Blanchard; and nine great-grandchildren, John, Rachael, Olivia, and Nicholas Blanchard, Patrick, Molly, and Colleen Quinlan, and Ryan and Kyle Quinlan. Mrs. Bethune is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2005 at St. Frances Episcopal Church with Rev. R.E. (Andy) Jackson officiating. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
