Clyde Christensen, 84, died Monday, May 17, 2004, at Bethany Home in Minden.

Services were held Friday at Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Church in Minden with the Rev. Dr. BerkeLandrum officiating.Burial with military rites by Minden American Legion and Heartwell Veterans of Foreign Wars were in MindenCemetery.

Mr. Christensen was born March 11, 1920, to Chris and Inger (Nielsen) Christensen in Minden. He grew up in the Minden area and graduated fromMinden High School in 1938. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He then returned to the Minden area. He married Shirley Hansen. They lived in Minden and Cozad. He and his brother Bill owned and operated the Jack and Jill Store inCozad. His wife died in 1961. In1962, he married Wilma (Petersen) Bunger. They lived in Minden. He worked at Rodine Market in Axtell and later managedFarmer's Union GroceryStore in Minden. In 1971, they moved to Grand Island where he worked for Skagway Food Store.He also helped his stepson at Bunger Processing in Minden.

His wife preceded him in death in 2001. He moved back to Minden in 2003.

Survivors are one son, David of Orlando, Fla.; two stepsons, Ronald Bunger of Minden and Richard Bunger of Grand Island; one stepdaughter, Debra Krause Ojeda of Grand Island; three sisters, Dahlia Saltzgaber of Minden, Rose Hemje of Hildreth and Zinnia Casper of Hildreth; 12 grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren.He also was preceded in deathby one stepson, Michael Bunger;one brother; three sisters; andone grandchild.
