M. JANE BOHLIN
AGE 91 YEARS
M. Jane Bohlin, of Montoursville, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital after a short illness.
She was born on Feb. 3, 1925, the daughter of Alonzo and Katherine Cummings Chapman, on Jacoby Mountain in Gamble Township.
Jane attended a one-room school in Cascade until the death of her mother, when as the oldest child, at age 14, she had to become a mother to her four younger brothers and sisters.
On Aug. 12, 1950, she married Russell F. Bohlin, who preceded her in death in 1982.
Jane was employed for 45 years at Sylvania in Montoursville until the plant closing.
Jane enjoyed knitting, quilting, cooking and gardening. Her greatest joy was found in spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Russell (Susan) Bohlin, Eric (Michelle) Bohlin, of Montoursville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and her beloved cats, Cocoa and Sally.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery; granddaughter, Michelle, on TWA Flight 800 and four siblings, Jean Chapman, Theresa Ellen Bufford, Neil Chapman and Philip Chapman.
Interment: Montoursville Cemetery.
