LESTIE A. (GREENE) BEAUDOIN, 101, of Main Street, a retired Linwood Lace floor supervisor, died Saturday at the home of one of her granddaughters, Heidi L. Beaudoin, in Wheelock, Vt.

She was the wife of the late Albert S. Beaudoin. Born on Austin Farm, in Exeter, a daughter of the late Edmund R. and Mildred E. (Ballou) Greene, she had lived in Coventry since 1917.

Mrs. Beaudoin worked at the former Linwood Lace (Beattie's Mill) for more than 30 years before retiring in 1967.

She enjoyed ceramics, and had taught the craft from her home.

Mrs. Beaudoin was one of the founders, and a charter member, of the Coventry Credit Union.

A life member of the Coventry Historical Society, she was active in the revitalization of the Coventry Paine House, the Read Schoolhouse and other local historical sites.

She was a member of the Descendants of Roger Williams, the Rhode Island Historical Society and the Coventry Friendship Link.

Mrs. Beaudoin was instrumental in the 1958 reorganization of the West Exeter Baptist Church, where she served for the next 35 years, until the age of 93, as church organist.

She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Iona Chapter, in Greene, and of the Eugenia Rebekah Lodge 13, OES, and the Amaranths, both of Coventry.

She was the mother of the late Bernice R. Osberg, and the sister of the late Randorf V. Greene, Clara E. Jordan and Iva I. Crossen.
She is survived by a son, 2 daughters, 11 grandchildren, 21 Great Grand children & 4 Great Great Grandchildren.


The funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at CarpenterJenks Quaker Lane Chapel, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick. Burial will be in Knotty Oak Cemetery, Coventry with her husband.
