JOY BARRY passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Kobacker House, Columbus. She was 80.

Born Georgia Nell Davis November 8, 1936 in Booneville, Mississippi to parents Leland and Eula (Bullard) Davis, Joy was graduated from Calhoun City High School in 1955. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education in 1959 from University of Southern Mississippi.

The following year, she married James M. Barry on June 18, 1960 and they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage together. A homemaker most of her life, Joy was a member of Three Crosses – A United Methodist Fellowship in Butler and enjoyed gardening, reading and music.

She is survived by her husband Jim; her son and daughter-in-law Jay and Bonnie Barry of Dublin; grandchildren Michelle and Johnathan Barry; siblings including Tommy Rita Davis, Bill & Carolyn Davis, Ken & Marcia Davis, Harry & Jessie Davis, Paula Davis, Barbara Davis and Susan & Mike Ray, all in Mississippi and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Barry family will receive friends Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Three Crosses – A United Methodist Fellowship, 12 Cleveland Street, Butler, Ohio with her funeral service at 1 p.m. Pastor Brandon Keck will officiate and burial will follow in Bunkerhill Cemetery.

Contributions in Joy’s memory to Three Crosses – A United Methodist Fellowship may be made at the funeral home.
