William Paul Lamar was born March 11, 1927 in Chetopa, Labette County, Kansas. He was the son of Kenneth Paul Lamar and Effie Ellen Bellamy. Paul married Phyllis Ruth Hilderbrand June 12, 1954 in Dearing, Kansas. They had four children to their union; one daughter Linda Sue and three sons Jimmy Lee, Michael Allen and Stephen Paul Lamar. William Paul was preceded in death by his son Michael Allen who passed away in 1961 at the age of one month and seven days old.
Uncle Paul was a great man he always tried hard to make everything fun for us kids. One of my fondest memories of him was when he took us fishing. He loaded us kids in an old car and bounced us across the field to the fishing pond. Where we learned to catch fish the old-fashioned way, with a cane pole. William Paul died of cancer March 6, 2002. He is buried in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Montgomery county, Kansas.
