Alice Mae Stapleton, 75, of Lowell, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born March 10, 1941 near Roland, Okla., to Walter and J.V. Brunk Copeland, and grew up in Cave Springs.

Alice was a licensed practical nurse for over 30 years and worked at various hospitals. She enjoyed crocheting and her dog, Sassy. She was a member of Westside Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Stapleton of the home; one daughter, Pam Ford and husband Fred of Lowell; two brothers, Don Copeland of Florida, Joe Copeland of Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Dustin Vinson, Stacie Vinson, Angie Ford, Baylea Ford, Jesse Ford, Brandon Ford; and three great-grandchildren, Emily Cruz, Sophia Medina and Blaine Ford. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Molly Unruh and Gladys Clements.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Philips Cemetery near Cave Springs under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, online guestbook at www.heritageofnwa.com.
