Edna M. Barton, 86, Blue Springs, MO, died Thursday June 12, 1997 at her home. Friends may call 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at Greening-Egan-Hayes Funeral Home, Clarence, MO; burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Clarence, MO.
Mrs. Barton was born April 6, 1911, in Blakesburg, IA, and had lived in this area for the past 17 years. She had been a Registered Nurse at several hospitals and doctor's offices cot across the state of Missouri for 44 years, retiring in 1971. She had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Barton; parents Frank and Lena Hughes; and a grandson, William Howard Barton. Survivors include a son, John W. Barton, and daughter-in-law, Brenda, Burnsville, MN; daughter, M. Jane Hayes, and son-in-law Ronald, of the home; three grandchildren, Jeffrey W. Morgan, Jacksonville, AR, Jennifer A. Barton and Julie A. Barton both of Hannibal, MO; and two stepgrandsons, Michael Hayes and Christopher Hayes, both of Blue Springs, MO. (Arrangement Speaks Suburban Chapel)
