Rickey J. Atkinson 65 went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 12/14/2016. He was born July 2, 1951 in Parkersburg, a son of the late Gilbert and Rosalie (Hendershot) Atkinson.
Rickey had worked as a contractor. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family, playing music, and loved witnessing and ministering to people about his love for God.
Surviving is his adoring wife and soulmate, of 34 years Patrice Ann Holmes Atkinson; two sons, Brian (Christina) Atkinson of Parkersburg and Michael (Alison) Atkinson of Vienna; four daughters, Lindsey (Ryan) Morehead of Vienna, Sarah and Faith Atkinson of Vienna, and Abigail (Kai) Sikio of Parkersburg; 7 Grandchildren, Samuel, Brylee, Isabella, Jack, Sophia, Madeline, and Nolan, four brothers, Gilbert (Monica) Atkinson of Vienna, Doug (Vivian) Atkinson of Columbus, OH, Anthony "Tony" (Hick) Atkinson of Belpre, OH, Donald (Susie) Atkinson of Parkersburg; two sisters, Peggy (Charlie) Read of Davisville, WV and Hazel Buck of Parkersburg; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Charles Buck.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 4PM at the Life Church located at 508 37th Parkersburg, WV 26102 with Pastor Pasi Sikio and Pastor Ralph Tisdale officiating.
