Surviving are one son; Dr. Franklin Martin and wife Miriam of Frankfort, Kentucky, one daughter; Mrs. William "Nola" DeVilder of Parsons, two step brothers; Jesse F. Shaffer of Port Smith, Virginia, Troy L. Shaffer of Orlando, Fla, two grandchildren; Dr. Elizabeth Jane Granger of Zachary, La. And William Michael "Mike" DeVilder and wife Sheila of Parsons, two great grandchildren; Katie and Alex Granger of Zachary, La., and two step great grandchildren; Daniel and Marcy Williams.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by one brother; Clifford R. Shaffer, one step brother; Cecil Shaffer, one sister; Effie Grace Shaffer and one step sister; Pearl Forsythe, and one son in law; William "Bill" DeVilder.
She attended the Murphy School at Texas Mountain. She worked at the former Dorman Mills from 1928 until it's closing and then went on to work at the former Lamberts Store at Parsons. She was a member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church for over fifty years, a member of the United Methodist Women and she sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge #95, a member of the Tucker County Senior Center and a member of the Goldenairs.
