He married Thusnelda Alexandra (Nelda) Kruger 1904-1974 in 1924 in California and they had two daughters, Beverley Nelda 1930-? and Pauline D. Beck. After the death of Nelda in 1974, he moved to Sun City, and at some point married Florence S. (maiden name unknown).
A volunteer in both world wars, Paul served in the Army in World War I and the Air Corps in World War II, retiring with the rank of Major.
Paul was educated in Kansas and California schools. After he was graduated from the University of California Berkeley he spent three years learning the banking business in San Francisco and came to Arizona in 1926 from a bank in Salt Lake City. He was manager of the Glendale office of the Valley National Bank three years and transferred to its home office in Phoenix in 1929.
Paul Beck was a founding partner of Refsnes, Ely, Beck & Co. in Phoenix in 1931, the only local firm dealing in stocks and bonds at the time, and a member of the New York Stock Exchange. He resigned from active ownership in 1967 but continued to act as investment adviser to a number of longtime clients until 1974.
He was a member of El Zaribah Shrine, Phoenix Consistory, Glendale Masonic Lodge 23 and First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors included his wife Florence, daughters Beverly Powers and Pauline D., and four grandchildren.
