Nellie Elizabeth Guse, 96, died at 7:35 a.m. 4-26-1990 at Octavia Nursing Home, Colfax, where she had been a resident since 1986.
Pallbearers were Leland Lott, Mick Kingsley, Jimmy Monroe, Donald Beecher, Ellryn Rocke and Mike Reeves. Her funeral was at 2 p.m Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Anchor. Rev. Melvin Blobaum officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Visitation was from 5 - 8 p.m. Saturday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.; and for one hour before the service at the church Sunday.
Mrs. Guse was born 12-14-1893 in Chatsworth, a daughter of Henry and Martha Wurrmnest Berlet. She married Otto Carl Guse on 2-18-1920 in Gibson City. He died 8-12-1986.
Surviving are a son, Edward, Colfax; three daughters, Evelyn Beecher, Colfax; Helen Kemple, Gibson City; and Lucille Reeves South Bend, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, three brothers, and three sisters.
Mrs. Guse was a lifetime resident to the Colfax area.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Anchor, to which memorials may be made."
