Born in New York City on June 11, 1924, he was the son of the late Adam Victor Monti and Mary DeFrancesco Monti Policelli. During World War II, he had worked in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. He then spent most of his life as an electrician, having worked in New York City and in 1986 he retired from the V.A. Medical Center in Montrose. A communicant of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, he was also a sports enthusiast & avid New York Mets fan.
In 1995, Adam was predeceased by his first wife Lorraine Monti, the mother of his children.
Survivors include his daughter, Robin Tempestilli & her husband Frank of Hopewell Junction; his daughter, Kim Buckley & her husband James of Fishkill; his daughter, Lorrie Short & her husband Jeff of Ft. Meade, MD; his son, Adam Monti, Jr. & his wife Tammy of Daytona Beach, FL; his grandson, Frank Tempestilli & his wife Tanya of Wappingers Falls; his granddaughter, Lori McGivney & her husband John of Yorktown Heights; his grandson, Timothy Monti Wohlpart of Brooklyn; his granddaughter, Jennifer Buckley & her fiancé Joseph Whalen of Fishkill; his grandson, Kyle Buckley of Fishkill; his grandson, Austin Short of Ft. Meade, MD; his granddaughters, Madison & Carsen Short of Ft. Meade, MD and Melissa & Jessica Monti of Daytona Beach, FL; his great-grandchildren, Larsyn & Christopher Tempestilli and Ryan McGivney; his sister, Ann Dailey of Monroe; many nieces and nephews.
Adam was predeceased in death by his son, Scott Adam Monti; his brother, Emil Monti; and his Step-father Phillip Policelli.

He is also survived by his 2nd wife, Laurene Monti.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 19 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
