A Mass of Christian Burial for Joann Elizabeth (Wolf) Hermes, 75, of Gainesville, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. John Pacheco officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with visitation to follow.

Mrs. Hermes passed away December 11, 2016 in Denton.

Joann was born March 14, 1941 in Gainesville to Adam and Mary (Schroeder) Wolf and was a graduate of Gainesville High School. On November 21, 1959, she married Walter Hermes at St. Mary’s in Gainesville. Mrs. Hermes enjoyed traveling, both domestically and abroad, visiting many different countries through the years. She was also a skilled gardener and seamstress. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Hermes treasured most her time spent with family.

Survivors include: husband Walter Hermes of Gainesville; son Dwayne Hermes of Dallas; daughter Sharla Hermes and husband Ross Foster of Colleyville; son Dennis Hermes and wife Lisa of McKinney; grandchildren: Katie, Abby, Ryan (Randa), and Harper; three great-grandchildren; brother Adam Wolf and wife Alma of Muenster; brother Walter Wolf and wife Georgia of Gainesville; and brother Johnny Wolf and wife Fran Carroll of Wimberley.

Mrs. Hermes was preceded in death by: her parents; sister Mary Arendt; brother Ed Wolf; and brother Lee Wolf.
