Ruth Holmes, 84, of 432 Park Avenue, passed away Saturday (December 10, 2016) at her residence.
Born February 23, 1932, in Endeavor, she was a daughter of the late Everal and Ellen Hunter Beane. On February 24, 1951, in Endeavor, she married Gerald Holmes who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Holmes, a homemaker, is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Asel of Kane, Jeannette Earle of Glassport and Sherry Davidson of Ludlow; a son, Jerry Holmes of Bryson City, NC; 23 grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; and one greatgreat grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth Ann Dilley and Connie Harris; and several brothers and sisters.

Friends will be received 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. where a funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with the Rev. David Pflieger, chaplain of the Lutheran Home at Kane, officiating. Burial will be in Gibbs Hill Cemetery at a later date.
