HAWTHORNE, LELA M., 96, [Feb. 28, 1908] longtime resident of Beecher Street in Louisville, died Monday [Apr 7, 2003] at Bashford East Healthcare. She was the former Lela Jaggers, a native of Hart County, KY, and a member of the First Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Hawthorne. She is survived by two stepchildren, Homer Hawthorne Jr. and Nancy Gilbert; and nieces, Tillie Gilpin, Loretta Eggen, Betty Ahonen, Lola Allen and Lauramae Dodson. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Arch L. Heady & Son-Taylor Blvd., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Thursday. CJ on Apr. 10, 2003
