Died, at the Cowley county infirmary, October 28th, George Kindig, aged 50 years. He was enlisted in company K. 16th regiment Ohio infantry, Sept. 25th, 1861. Discharged Oct. 21st, 1864. The deceased leaves a wife and six children. The family which has been living in the county six years has been of late sorely afflicted. They came to the infirmary about four weeks ago from a swampy district of Pleasant Valley township, where the entire family contracted malaria. They lost two children a few weeks ago and two more are not expected to live. Mr. Kindig is spoken of as an upright, industrious laborer and but for sickness would have prospered.
