John Porteus Beale of Kinsale, VA passed away peacefully on December 10, 2016. He was the son of Charles Hoomes and Clara Bailey Beale. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Martha C. Beale, his parents, bother, Charles H. Beale, Jr., sister, Anne T. Beale and Brother, Robert H. Beale. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps in World War II. He served Westmoreland County as Commissioner of the Revenue for 46 years. He filled the position upon the death of his father who was Commissioner before him. His love and wealth of knowledge of Westmoreland County will never be surpassed. He is survived by his daughter, Martha B. Wilkins of Montross and his granddaughter, Anne R. Wilkins of Montross. He will forever live in our hearts. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Yeocomico Episcopal Church, Tucker Hill, at 2:00 pm. The burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Cople District Volunteer Fire Dept., P. O. Box 51, Kinsale, VA 22488 or Cople Parish Episcopal Churches, P. O. Box 10, Hague, VA 22469.
