Stephen served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Cathedral Prep, Gannon, and University of Detroit. He graduated with an MBA and a BS in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry. Stephen was an avid Detroit Tigers, Buffalo Bills, and Notre Dame fan. He was active at Mount Calvary R.C. Church.
Stephen was preceded in death by his son, Michael Cieslak; five brothers, Alfred, Joseph, John, Raymond, and Nestor; and four sisters, Mary Tuttle, Julia Savage, Jean Vamos, and Stella Cieslak.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret "Peggy" Ann Wierbinski, whom he married on February 16, 1957; son, John Cieslak, of Erie; three daughters, Mary Roberts (Dennis), Ann Marie DeWolf (Frank), and Patricia Carson (Patrick), all of Erie; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
