Richard Law, the son of Richard Law and Ann Hunter was born in County Tyrone, Ireland and came to the United States from Ireland in 1819 with his parents and siblings, according to Naturalization Papers. In the Naturalization papers his father named his five sons and their ages: Richard 26, John 17, Andrew 15, Wilson 13 and William 9. The immigration took place in 1819 and the naturalization in 1824. Richard, Jr. would have been about 21 years old at that time of his arrival in America. We know little about his life, interests or occupation. He may have divorced, disappeared or died young as his wife, Elizabeth or Betsy Baker (believe she had quite a large family of Baker children before she married Richard Law and had one Law son, Richard Andrew Law in 1832). Elizabeth remarried about 1835 in Mercer County to Richard Clarkson and they moved to Logan County, Ohio about 1836/37 according to my great, grandfathers obituary (Richard Andrew Law). There is more information on him on findagrave. Richard Andrew Law 1832-1906.
Because he was a small child when his mother remarried, he grew up not knowing about his real father nor information on the Law family in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. At this time, Richard Law's burial place is unknown.
This has been a life long and on going research problem and we welcome any help or clues. Thanks! ELJ 12-10-2016
