Cleo Rachel Anderson, age 71, died peacefully at home on Thursday, January 4, 2007, following an extended and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on January 14, 1935, in Calumet, Michigan to the late John and Esther Vuolle. She graduated from Calumet High School in 1952 and The Evanston Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. She married Daniel R. Anderson of Evanston, Illinois on June 10th, 1957.

Cleo and Dan settled down in Evanston before moving to Dekalb, Illinois, while Dan finished college. They then lived in Rockford and Aurora, Illinois, as well as Davenport, Iowa, while Dan began his career at Burroughs Corporation while Cleo stayed at home caring for their children Carl and Kristen. In 1972, Cleo, Dan and family moved to Naperville, Illinois where, after several years of being a devoted mother, she resumed her nursing career working for Copley Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

Cleo is survived by her husband, Daniel; her son, Carl (Kathy) Anderson of Montgomery, Illinois; her daughter, Kristen (Brian) Mann of St. Charles, Illinois; six grandchildren, Brianna, Kaylyn, Nicole, Tyler, Nathan and Daniel; two sisters, Ilene Newell of Brighton, Michigan and Norma (Rudy) Aittama of Livonia, Michigan. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Bertha, Betty, Elma, Helen, Avon, Judy; one brother, Carl; and an infant brother, Leo.

A public memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 10, at the Naper Settlement Century Memorial Chapel, 523 South Webster Street, Naperville, Illinois, with Pastor Ron Roetman officiating.
