Nahunta- Connie " Bubber" Gee Peeples, Jr., 85 of Nahunta died early Tuesday morning (August 2, 2011) at the VA Medical Center, Lake City, FL after an extended illness.
Born in Miami, FL his parents were Connie Gee Peeples, Sr. and Effie Mae Campbell. He is also preceded in death by his step-mother, Rosa Lee Peeples, a sister, Mae Morgan; a brother, Lloyd Peeples .
Connie was of the Baptist faith, he served in the United States Navy during WW II where he was wounded, Mr. Connie worked in the ship yards prior to entering the Navy, and also worked as a Souse Chief at the Cloister, on Sea Island.
Survivors include his brother, Marvin Peeples of Nahunta; a sister, Clara G. Peeples of Waynesville; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held Friday afternoon (August 5, 2011) from 1-2PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Friday afternoon (August 5, 2011) at 2PM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Altman officiating.
Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery with Military Honors.
Pallbearers will be Larry Morgan, Mike Peeples, Brian Peeples, Preston Hope, Danny Carter, Doug Altman, Collin Peeples and Jamie Cleland.
