Woodson came to McAlester as a young man and had lived here all his life. He married Frances N. Manning on Dec. 5, 1941 in McAlester and was a foster parent for Child Welfare for many years. He was also a paint contractor for Paul Miller Construction, Don McClain Construction, Leo Toone, T. H. Rogers Lumber Co., Finamore Cook Paint, Sherman Williams Paint, Demac's and Jack Lindley at the Holiday Inn. Survivors include his wife, Frances, of the home; three daughters and sons in law, Patricia and John Stephens, Texarkana, Ark., June and Tom Vannoy of Broken Arrow, and Phyllis and Hugh Johnson, Ft. Worth, TX; and a son, Jimmy Adams of McAlester. Also a sister, Faye Morris, Vienna, IL; his mother in law, Myrtle Manning of McAlester and numerous foster children. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lonnie Adams, Bob Adams and Ed Adams; and a sister, Mary Katherine Baggs. Funeral services were held May 1, 1996.
