Charlotte Ann (Wagner) Swortzel, 78, widow of Harry A. Swortzel, of Staunton, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at King's Daughter's Community Health and Rehab Center.

She was born November 3, 1938 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Robert K. and Ida (Davis) Wagner.

She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Frank Wagner; and a sister, Barbara Lawrence.

Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Michelle Swortzel and Michael and Lora Swortzel; three brothers, Robert Wagner of Florida, Charles Wagner of Georgia, and John Wagner of Washington; four sisters, Sue Reese of Greenville, Frances Hartzog of Staunton, Becky Breen of Charlottesville, and Virginia Simmons of Waynesboro; and a grandson, Andrew Swortzel.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Frank Wagner; and a sister, Barbara Lawrence.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2016, in Bethel Presbyterian Church by the Rev. JoAnn Bunn. Burial will be private in St. John's Reformed Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2016, in the Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 563 Bethel Green Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
