Lewis Wayne Hess, 46, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2016, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Palmer. A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Palmer with Rev. Paul Gauntt officiating. Interment will follow in Palmer Cemetery.

Lewis was born in Hereford, Texas, to Jerry Dan and Kathy (Jones) Hess. He grew up in Fritch, Texas, and graduated from Fritch High School in Sanford in 1989. Lewis went on to attend Frank Phillips Junior College and West Texas A&M.

He made his home in Fritch, Waxahachie, and settled in Lancaster in 2015. Lewis served his country proudly in the United States Army serving in Germany during Desert Storm.

He worked for Tyson Foods. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He enjoyed movies, spending time with family, and enjoyed participating in Fantasy Football League.

He was preceded in death by his father; and step-father.

Survivors include his son, Chase Hess; his mother, Kathy Blair; brother, Mike Hess; sisters, Kim Ingle and Julie Lindell; three nephews; and two nieces. J5
