In Paul Goldak's census pages he states he is from Ukraine. Since Poland had been eliminated from the maps when he emigrated to the US and many Lemko born in Austro-Hungarian Galicia (Southern Poland or Western Ukraine) reported their place of birth as Austria, Hungary, Ukraine, Galicia, Ruthinia, or Rus. Unfortunately FAG's restrictive place index fails to allow many of these former residences of many many immigrants. I'm confident that the Galicia on his memorial page was in Western Ukraine or more likely Southern Poland (where several Sawka families [his wife] still life today) not Galicia, Spain.
