Larry Wayne Harvey, age 82, resident of Millington and husband of Lydia Modenia Harvey, departed this life Tuesday morning, December 6, 2016 at the Methodist North Hospital in Memphis.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Harvey will be conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. Interment will follow in the Forty-Five Cemetery at Moscow. A visitation for Mr. Harvey will be from 12 noon until 2 P.M. Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Harvey was born January 23, 1934 in Moscow, Tennessee. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and moved to Illinois when he was 18 years old. He was of the Christian faith and was employed as a residential carpenter for many years before his retirement. Mr. Harvey was married July 15, 2007 to the former Lydia Modenia Yager and enjoyed outdoor activities that included fishing, hunting, and duck hunting and trapping. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Mr. Harvey is survived by his wife, Lydia Modenia Harvey of Millington, TN; two daughters, Cindy Duncan (Tom) of Piedmont, MO, Rita Schopf (Daniel) of Manteno, IL; two sons, Wayne Harvey of Piedmont, MO, Bruce Harvey of Bourbonnias, IL; seven sisters, four brothers, sixteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Harvey and Margaret Leatherwood Harvey; his daughter, Jane Honaker; one sister and three brothers.
