Mary L. Obenchain, 93, formerly of 1710 Broadway, Piqua, died on Monday, January 23, 2006 at 10:03 am in the Piqua Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Bradford on January 18, 1913 to the late Edward and Florence Shipley Baker. She married Robert W. Obenchain on March 26, 1932; he preceded her in death in May 1969.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Patricia Crosby and her husband, Charles of Monticello, Ky.; two granddaughters, Julie and Todd Skillman of Pawleys Island, S.C., Kelli and Steven Baker of Mansfield, Texas; two great granddaughters, Grace Skillman, Emily Skillman; a niece, Beverly Wert of Troy; and a special friend, Barbara Shellenberg of Piqua. She was preceded in death by a son, R. Craig Obenchain in 1992.

Mrs. Obenchain attended Covington Schools and retired from the former Medalist Allen-A Company in 1983 following thirty-seven years of employment. She was a member of the Congregation Christian United Church of Christ.

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, January 27, 2006 at 1:30 pm in the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Angelo C. Caserta officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 12:30-1:30 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Piqua Education Foundation, 719 E. Ash St., Piqua, OH 45356.
