Emma Mae Enyeart, aged 91, died peacefully on December 1, 2016 at her home in Largo, FL.

Mae was born September 13, 1925 in Ora, IN, the daughter of Paul and Velma Tanner.

In 1943, Mae married Darle Enyeart and they lived in Knox, Lafayette, and Crown Point, IN, for over 50 years before moving to Florida in 1989.

As a very devoted mother, Mae instilled the importance of education, honesty, and a strong work ethic. Family and friends were her passion and delight. Mae loved cooking, baking, gardening, and especially flowers. She cooked professionally, specializing in salads and desserts at various restaurants and two country clubs. She won numerous awards for her original recipes.

Mae is survived by her sister-in-law, Rosemary Frye and her husband, Oliver, her brother-in-law, Larry Enyeart and his wife, Andrea; her four children: DeWayne (Joan), Sharon Greene (Harvey), Robert (Sheila) and Jan VanHoy; her eight grandchildren: Emily Carter (Shaun), Kevin Greene (Yoshie), David Enyeart, Cory Greene (Amanda), Leslee Mackey (Garrett), Elizabeth Enyeart, Cierra Sturgeon, and Noah Lawrence; seven great-grandchildren: Akquan Williams, Maya Carter, Cameron Phillips, Benjamin Greene, Olivia Greene, Braxton Carter, and Kai Greene.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Darle, and her granddaughter, Roshel (Shelley) Gilliam. Both she and Darle were members of the First United Methodist Church in Clearwater, FL.

Mae’s family wishes to thank the Bronze Team of Empath Hospice for all of their compassionate care.

There will be a memorial service at Sylvan Abbey United Methodist Church, 2817 Sunset Road, Clearwater, FL 33759 on December 10, 2016 at 2 pm.
